Domistic Goddess WHAT?

So I have rediscovered my cockpot, love love love love....

In the past week I made:

Pot Roast
Feta Ravioli
Breakfast Bake
Chicken and Dumplings

And I have a whole list if things I need to make with it, baked apples being high on that list.

So I'm as much as I hate the desision I made I know it's for the best. This wasnt easy, and I dont personally like it but I know that the only way you will be able stand up and get your shit together is by walking away and letting you see just what I've been doing all this time for you...

The Breathe that just wont come

You go off and get mad about the place you and your family are forced to stay in. You lost your place and when the only person that allowed u and you kids to stay, you caused him to loose his/my home. Then you have the audasity to come at me about how no matter what I always have a place to stay and because I have that you fight me.

You do not have the right to treat me like this when I have done nothing to you, yet you love to throw things in my face that I have nothing to do with.

I'm not the reason you are where you are. I'm not the reason people dont want to help you.

I understand that you dont want to be in this room, neither do I...

You leave to go hang with your friends out of town and go to parties. I stay in this little room and watch your children. You leavr for one party and I see you two days later, I go out and if I'm not back by the next mornung you get irked and treat me like shit.

I love you but I cant keep doing this. I cant help you and your kids anymore. Yes I care but you are not going to use me as a scapegoat...

Goodbye...

A bag revisited

So I forget uf I posted about the market bag I was making/made when I girst got to Eureka, but it was really cute and got used ALOT...

Pics for proof will be posted...

But I got tired of it not being used so I ripped it out, first time ever salvaging old yatn btw, and decided to reknit it...

So far I have the base done with a ball I had in stash and I bumped up the needle size to make it a bit more stretchy and its going along great. Since I am using a diffrent yarn for the basr tge actual bag is going to ve alot deeper.

~happy dance~

I love ut when projects workout the way you want lol

Now I just have yo work thru this eye twitch of yo knit2tog mesh...

As long as I dont drop a stitch I'm good, so wish me luck!

We all fall down

Today is the day that my ex moves out... Its kinda wierd. I care for him but at the same time watching him go leaves me with a cold numb feeling.  I have to figure out what I'm doing. I can't stay here, but I dont want to move with Beth and the boys.

If you know me, you know that I suck at transitions, they are not my strong suit. I was flirting with the idea of going to visit family in Indiana but I'm not sure if I really want to.

FUCK....

With a capital K

This is Murphy's Law to the fullest:

1. I got mugged two weeks ago and the bag they stole had ALL my knitting needles in it...So after a week of having nothing to knit with I broke down and started using bamboo skewers to knit an angora scarf...

2. The Yarn I'm knitting with is AMAZING soft and feels great between my fingers, but its so soft that single fibers get caught in my nose and makes it go into self cleaning mode, which means I cant breathe thru all the snot/muccus/watery eyes

3. and now my friends dog was just cought on the sofa EATING my angora lace scarf....

I will say this after all that I think I earned that capital K... I'm a Knitter down deep where it counts!

I'm only happy when it rains..

So here I am on my friends laptop hiding out in Nor Cal redwoods. Its actually rather nice up here. I will say it is rather rainy. Its rained well over 75% of the time since I been up here. Tho I do like the drearness of it all, gives me a reason to bundle up wit my knitting. Scarves, socks, new patterns... I have been a very busy boy...and I love it. I feel like I have found that spark that I lost...

I have been talking to a few freinds up here ant they want me to leave The City and move here...I have been giving it alot of thought. I'm not sure yet what I want to do but I like the idea and miss living in a smaller area. Tho I will say there are alot few gays let alone drag...or people of color...*heavy sigh* But whats a girl gonna do? I'll tell you what, strap on some strappy heels and hit the town for drinks. I seriously have to work something out with the bars here...there is one bar that is gay...get this, not once a week...but once a MONTH!

No brunch with the girls, No COCKtails with the ladies, I don't even wanna think about finding Mister Right. THANK GOD I have Sex and the city on DVD I can live thru them for the time being.

But I have to get back to my knitting and looking at MAC (makeup not apple)

BIG KISS!

Think of the Chil'ren and Prayer Shawls

So I volunteer at a Non-Profit named Bay Area Young Positives (Bay Poz for short) and  I put a call out for some fellow knitters to help make some scarves for some clients for the new year. WE have had a horrible cold snap in The City the past month and since alot of our members are between homes right now I thought a scarf drive would be nice....everyone deserves a warm scarf right? well today the first of what I'm hoping around 30 scarves have come in...I'm so excited I could just spit...

And I think I found a place to donate these shawls I have been knitting up. A friend Kim is the Activities Director for a local elderly home, so I figured I would join up with her to hand them out...Shawls and lap blankets these are my current projects, so far its going rather nicely I'm enjoying it...hopefully both of these end well. I will keep you all updated on my progress. If you wanna make anything for either project just let me know and I'll hook you up with the mailing address :-)

Later Pandas!

For the Love of Entralac

So here I am knitting my holiday gifts up and I'm making not 1 but three Entralac projects for diffrent people. One Stile and 2 scarves...the sad thing is I want something too so I'm probably going to be casting on a forth one here soon if I dont go crazy first *sigh* But other than that life is going okay. Jsut been trying to get these gifts done so I can send them back home to Indiana. I will say that the one thing that is really starting to piss me off is this weather that we are having inThe City as of lately...I don't mind cold, or rain, or wind but I am not a fan of cold, windy and wet days...Tho it's probably a good this that way Im staying inside and working on projects that I need to get done.

Speaking of I just wanted to give you a quick update...now I'm going back to my knitting and hopefully will update here soon...

Simple Gifts

Today I woke up thinking my toes were going to fall off because they were so cold. When I checked the temp outside it read....25 degrees....That's right, 25. now I know what most of you are thinking, "Turn on the fucking heat, why didn't you turn it on before you went to bed?" and your are right But I live in San Francisco, this is the coldest its been in a VERY long time. Lets just say when I was getting my morning coffee I was talking to a girl in line who's lived here for ten years, longer than my 3 which means she has more knowledge on these things, and she said that she's never seen it this bad in the years she's been here. Returning to my knitting I stopped and thought about it, days like this back home meant staying in doors with family, born into or chosen, and enjoying their company.

I remember when I was younger and we would have our wood stove on and be sitting in the family room watching my mother with her cross stitch, my sister with her dolls, and I would be reading yet another book. Nothing fancy just enjoying the day off from school.

Picking up my knitting I realized that through my knitting I have taken a part of that feeling with me. You don't have to knit huge lace pieces or sweaters, but by finding joy in the feeling of fiber running through your fingers and watching your needles twist it into the corresponding knit or purl stitch and knowing that the thing your making is going to keep a loved one warm or go to someone that needs the comfort of knowing that someone is thinking about them, even if they have no idea who made it.

It's not just knitting but any crafting that takes you away and silences your mind for a few minutes and lets you just be. Spinning, crafting. crochet, or what ever your craft is remember to enjoy it. I have been knitting for some charity projects lately and the enjoyment I'm getting out of it has more to do with the families that are going to be receiving my craft more than the knitting itself. If you are on Ravelry then I'm sure you might have seen a quick call out for scrap yarn from KnitsWithBalls...That's me...I'm making baby sweaters. Baby Surprise Jackets to be precise. I wanted to knit them up and give them to a local hospital here in The City so mothers would have something warm to take their babies home in...that baby sweater is something I can make in two nights and gives a world of warmth to a family that is having hard times....

So guys please find the simple things this season and enjoy the company you keep and know that even if you are alone I'll be thinking of you...:-)

Holiday Knitting...

So after years of only knitting for one person, Ihave branched out and am actually knitting for a few people this holiday season. I won't post their names here but if you have ever gotten a peice of knitting from me while I have been living in The City then your name could beon the list...So brace yourself Effie you could be one of the special ones.

So far I have made Swallowtail in a worsted weight so its HUGE! I love it I might have to make a few more as gifts since its so much quicker and it looks GREAT!

I'm just starting a Smoke Ring in a awesome Crimson red... I almost wanna keep if for myself but that defeats the porpuse of holiday knitting doesnt it lol

and I have a few pairs of socks I wanna make...So this might be the year I really get to know what its like to knit for others...

WISH ME LUCK!

A Letter (revisited)

Dear Non-Knitter;
Before you say anything about the handcrafted gift I just presented to you, please keep a few things in mind. Yes, I could have gone to a store and wrestled between getting you this or that a few days before now, but instead I started weeks/months/years ago by selecting a delightfully mild-mannered ewe which produced the softest wool. I washed, carded, and spun the fibres into the ideal yarn I required. I dyed it the precise shade that would compliment your skin/eyes/hair; then stitched countless swatches of various stitch patterns and piecing them together, arranging, adding and dropping a few -- finally coming up with the design I would use to handcraft your gift.
Now that I have all this figured out, I have to determine your measurements without your knowledge. Now this is a very clever trick which I will not go into detail in this letter, for it will unravel many a knitting secret. Having your measurements, I have to put those into an algebraic equation and using the stitches I chose to use, I have to do a bit of math -- that's right, I said math. I have to calculate out how many stitches to cast-on so that your gift isn't too small or too big for you.
With all this preparatory work, I can FINALLY cast-on and actually start making your gift. This could be anywhere from ten to several hundred stitches. Now here is where the fun begins. Sitting in my comfy chair/bus seat/plane/doctors office I knit. And knit. And knit, all the while thinking to myself how great this will look on you. For these aren't just stitches I'm making with these needles and yarn, I am softly saying a little prayer for you, whispering “I love you” into each stitch. All 502,839 of them...yes, I really did count them.
Once I have all the pieces made (and trust me I probably had to knit some pieces more than once so that they would have the same gauge as the rest of the pieces), I sewed them together in the right order and position -- this might take a few tries to get right since sewing isn't my greatest skill. But I push through knowing that this gift is for you.
Now I have everything together: the color is beautiful, the stitching is impeccable and the garment is washed, blocked, dried, boxed and ready to be gifted to you.
All of that time I spent just to give you a scarf/sweater/blanket/those socks. Each stitch made with love for you from me. So when ever you feel that you are alone or life gets hard, go find this gift of love and pull it around tight and know that someone loves you and that they spent the time to actually make this for you. Sharing a handicraft item is done out of love -- there is no monetary value that can cover the time that goes into it each piece. So if you are ever lucky enough to receive one of these precious items please treasure it and understand that it is a work of art in itself made specifically for you.
Now doesn't that make this gift a bit better than that Gift Certificate to Where Ever-Mart... so don’t go f*** it up by throwing it in the washer and dryer and ruining it!
With Love,
A Knitter

Letter To a Non-Knitter

Dear Non-Knitter;
Before you say anything about the handcrafted gift I just presented you please keep a few things in mind. Yes, I could have gone to a store and wrestled between getting you this or that a few days before now, but instead started weeks/months/years ago by picking out the perfect shade of yarn to go with your skin/eyes/hair, then stitched countless swatches of different stitch patters and piecing them together, moving them around, adding and dropping a few finally coming up with the pattern i would use to make your gift.

Now that WE have that I have all this figured out I have to figure out your measurements without your knowledge...Now this a very clever trick witch i will not expose in this letter, for it will unravel many a knitting secrets. Sitting in my comfy chair, bus seat, plane, doctors office I knit. And knit. And knit, all the while thinking to myself how much this will look good on you. for these aren't just stitches I'm making with these needles and yarn, I am softly saying a little prayer for you, whispering I love you into each stitch. All 500,8395 of them...Yes, I really did count them...

GREAT NEWS....

I made a scarf. I I know what your thinking...a scarf?!?!?! You seen me knit crazy lacy awesome socks and out there fair isle...so why the hell am I excited about a scarf. well its my first FO in around 3-4 months.... I know right. No matter what I started I couldnt finish it. I couldnt sit down and make someone else's project...so I fianlly frogged the Vogue socks I was workign on and casted on a simple X and O cabled scarf and it turned out GREAT. I held together a strand of purple Cherry Tree Hill and Lime Green Malibrigo sock weights and its FAN-DAMN-TASTIC lol I will be weaing the ends in here ina few min when i find my darning needles and blocking it but its a fun simple scarf and im VERY excited about it.

Knitters block is something I always hear about but I never really had it untill now. I'm SO glad to be over it and designing and knitting again. I was getting so frustrated, pick a project, cast on, knit a few inches, frog it...and repeat. No matter what I wanted to make it just didnt turn out. But now I have a new scarf, at the usual 8-10 feet with enough yarn left to make me some matching wrist warmers....

hmmm...

maybe some End Paper Mitts....;-)

Global village

If we could reduce the world’s population to a village of precisely 100 people, with all existing human ratios remaining the same, the demographics would look something like this:

The village would have 60 Asians, 14 Africans, 12 Europeans, 8 Latin Americans, 5 from the USA and Canada, and 1 from the South Pacific

51 would be male, 49 would be female

82 would be non-white; 18 white

67 would be non-Christian; 33 would be Christian

80 would live in substandard housing

67 would be unable to read

50 would be malnourished and 1 dying of starvation

33 would be without access to a safe water supply

39 would lack access to improved sanitation

24 would not have any electricity (And of the 76 that do
have electricity, most would only use it for light at night.)

7 people would have access to the Internet

1 would have a college education

1 would have HIV

2 would be near birth; 1 near death

5 would control 32% of the entire world’s wealth; all 5 would be US citizens

33 would be receiving --and attempting to live on-- only 3% of the income of “the village”

Boychick on a Mission

So after dating a this cute Jewish guy (I flat out asked him if he was and he said yes) for a few months, and trying to get him to come to Seder with me...
With no avail, it came to light that no in fact he wasn't Jewish and lied because he wanted to date me. Now, I only date Jewish guys but if I ask you if you are please don't lie to me. I guess he gets asked that allot, so this time he just went with it.

In desperation I broke down and signed up for JDate.com. If you don't know what that is, think of it as Match.com for Jews. And let me tell you I'm very surprised with the gay Jewish boys on my area. I think I might have to start going to temple more often.

In knitting news I have started a merino and silk scarf that I'm hoping will look great felted down. I found a hat pattern in a book Shibori Knits. It looks great no so im hoping the felting would look even better.

But really Its been a very mellow few weeks. Just working on make up some more of my designs. And I'm really getting into seeing my own ideas coming off my needles. Who knows I could be the next Eunny Yang, and you all can say you read me when lol

But I have to get off here my breakfast/knitting is waiting on me. I promise to update soon!

And I leave you with Art...I love this video!

Loving This Scarf...

A friend of mine made this scarf for a friend and I LOVE IT.

I have been wanting to knit another lengthwise scarf for a while now, I love the scarf I made with the Frizza yarn...

I love the slipped stitches it makes the scarf almost look woven.

The pattern can be found here

Scrappy Scarf

I might have to knit a few of these up with all these scraps of sock yarn I have laying around.

MY new Bling...

So two nights ago Jose, Mercy and I were jumping into the car to pick up pie crusts for the Dutch apples we were just slicing to make into tastey pie...MMMMM PIE....

WE were driving and between a mixture of rain, Joses Meds, and it being dark, we slammed hard into the back of a parked car going around 25 miles per hour. I suffered side, chest, back, and leg pain. Jose was just ruffled a bit, and Mercy had stomach and breat pain. Most of your injuries were from the seat belt snapping up back.

The poilice, fire dept, and ambulances showed up on the scene rather quickly. they pulled me and Mercy out of the car. Placed us on back boards and took all of us to UCSF.

After being strapped down on those damn boards for 3 hours I was finally put in a real bed were I was taken for X-rays. Nothing is broken, It's just muscle pain from my body being thrown around.

After 5 hours in the hospital I was able to leave with mercy. Our Scripts in hand and our way to buy a bottle of wine to relax. Now for the next week I'm popping Hydrocodin and Ibuprofen when I wake up and when it starts to act up during the day...and he also game me a anti-anxiety incase I cant sleep...

But on a lighter not... Mercy and I did get new bling!

Kisses for Krysmas

thanks its it I'm tired of it...I'm moving to Paris!

On a lighter note I made the Slytherin house for the Harry Potter Knitting Crocheting Cup...Oy yea, get down with our naughty selves!

Salazar Slytherin, the house's founder.

"You could be great, you know, and Slytherin will help you on the way to greatness, no doubt about that."
—The Sorting Hat to Harry Potter

Slytherins tend to be ambitious, cunning, and achievement-oriented. They also have highly developed senses of self-preservation. This means that Slytherins tend to hesitate before acting, so as to weigh all possible outcomes of a decision (and how these outcomes would personally impact them), unlike Gryffindors, whose chivalrous natures would likely lead them to react immediately and instinctively.
According to Albus Dumbledore, the qualities which Salazar valued in the students he chose included cleverness, resourcefulness, determination, and "a certain disregard for the rules."

Haunted Hotel Tour 2010

So I have decided that I want to have my own Haunted Hotel Tour. I want to check out these places I always read/hear about all over the country.

I want to try and hit one hotel a month...

My first hotel I want to visit is the Provincial Hotel down in good New Orleans

Not only is it a beautiful hotel but its also it is in heart of the French Quarter of New Orleans...And that is totally on my places to travel list. So why not get two birds with one stone!

Anyone wanna cone with?

I don't do resolutions, I feel goals are better to work with. And that being said these are a few of my goals for 2010:

1. Design more: I want to knit and make more of my own things instead of hunting down patterns for what I want to make.

2. Travel more: I want to travel around thew country more, there are awesome places around this country I want to visit.

3. Take better care of myself: I want to spend more time in the gym. I don't want a crazy awesome body but I do want loose a bit more.

Those are my goals, nothing great, but something workable.

I hope everyone has a great New Year.

Angel in the Block of Marble

So I'm sitting here looking at a ball of fingering weight yarn and trying to see what it wants to become. I'm really getting into the whole designing for myself thing and people are really liking what I'm coming up with. I want to put more of these things up on ETSY, I want to go on a vacation so this is my goal. To have my knitting provide me with play money.

So I have a been sending out patterns to have them test knitted. And so far I have been getting allot of positive feed back. My one problem is that I suck at writing it all out. *insert sad face* but its slowly coming along.

I'm working on cleaning up my Posh Knits pattern so I can get that out there. I think that it might be my first pattern up for sale. But we shall see about that.

Okay back to my knitting...

Kumo Stole

Happy Holidays...

As a gift to you I wanted to post a new pattern. It's names Kumo Stole. Kumo is the Japanese word for cloud and spider, I figured that was very fitting.

wI hope you have fun making this and if you are scared of cables then this is for you since thats the majority of the make up of this project. And once I get a new digi I'll take a few better photo's

Kumo Stole

Needle size: 6

Gauge: 44 stitches and 32 rows = 4 inches

Yarn: 3 Balls of Alpaca Sox, 1350 yds (but use what ever your favorite sock yarn is)

Finished size after blocking: 18" x 8'

Cast on: 100 stitches

(Note: If you want to make yours wider or narrower, add or subtract stitches in groups of 10)

Row one: knit 10, *Yo, K 10*, repeat across (109 total)
Row 2 and all even rows: purl back but knit the yarn over
Row 3 Knit as the stitches fall (knit 10 purl 1)
Row 4-8: repeat rows 2 and 3
Row 9: Cable 5 front (slip the first 5 stitches onto a cable needle,
knit the next five, knit the five off the cable needle), purl 1,
*repeat across row ending with cable 5 front

repeat rows 2-9 until desired length (I'm making mine 8 feet long but
to each there own ;-) )

After you get to the desired length, on the even side start to bind
off. when you get to the knit stitch drop it off your needle. M1 by
picking up the top bar and continue with the bind off.

unravel the stitches all the way down..

Block and let dry and your finished :-)

Cant wait to see how yours turns out! Feel free to ask questions... And thank you SnookiesOz for that great chart!

2 new projects

So I have two projects on my needles right now...

Floating Cable Shawl of Death

And Posh mitts for my best friends mother Donna

Both are fun to knit and i will be providing patterns for both :-)

The yarn I used for the stole is Alpaca Sox. I strongly suggest this simply because its so soft and cuddly. Then the mitts are 2/ply cashmere and silk, talk about posh right!

I have been a rather busy bee the past few days!

new hair...

So I want to grow my hair out again, I kinda Miss my mohawk...I KNOW RIGHT! So I broke down and colored it the other night...

I went from this...

To that...

I think it came out great. I used SPLAT from walgreens and I love it. I have used this dye a few times and the colors always come out amazing. My one thing I hate is that it leaves color deposits on my scalp for a few days becuase its so highly condensed…but you get bleach (tho it wasn’t a lot and if you have long hair you might think about getting two kits) and color in the kit for less than $10 bucks.

Couldn't you just spit!

The Rime of the Ancient Mariner

Why do I love this poem, its part of the

Like one, that on a lonesome road
Doth walk in fear and dread,
And having once turned round walks on,
And turns no more his head;
Because he knows, a frightful fiend
Doth close behind him tread."

If you want to read the whole poem you can find it here...

http://etext.virginia.edu/stc/Coleridge/poems/Rime_Ancient_Mariner.html

a new shawl

So after frogging a shawl that was totally off count I casted on a new wrap. Its going to be my own design, simple but fun...Can we say drop stitches ;-)

So winter is here in the city, I took a photo out my patio window...

Yea you would never guess that I'm looking downo on the city and i have a veiw of the bay...

Wet and foggy, thank goodness I have plenty of hats and scarves to keep my comfy :-)

Yes, Virginia

Is There a Santa Claus? was the title of an editorial appearing in the September 21, 1897 edition of the New York Sun...

Dear Editor--I am eight years old.
Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus.
Papa says, 'If you see it in The Sun, it's so.'
Please tell me the truth, is there a Santa Claus?

Virginia O'Hanlon
115 W. 95th Street

Virginia, your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by the scepticism of a sceptical age. They do not believe except they see. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds. All minds, Virginia, whether they be men's or children's are little. In this great universe of ours man is a mere insect, an ant, in his intellect, as compared with the boundless world about him, as measured by the intelligence capable of grasping the whole of truth and knowledge.

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus! It would be as dreary as if there were no Virginias. There would be no child-like faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The eternal light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished.

Not believe in Santa Claus! You might as well not believe in fairies! You might get your papa to hire men to watch in all the chimneys on Christmas eve to catch Santa Claus, but even if you did not see Santa Claus coming down, what would that prove? Nobody sees Santa Claus, but that is no sign that there is no Santa Claus. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see. Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that's no proof that they are not there. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world.

You tear apart the baby's rattle and see what makes the noise inside, but there is a veil covering the unseen world which not the strongest man, nor even the united strength of all the strongest men that ever lived, could tear apart. Only faith, fancy, poetry, love, romance, can push aside that curtain and view and picture the supernal beauty and glory beyond. Is it all real? Ah, Virginia, in all this world there is nothing else real and abiding.

No Santa Claus! Thank God! he lives, and he lives forever. A thousand years from now, Virginia, nay, ten times ten thousand years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.

*takes a deep breathe*

I've achieved so much in life, but I'm an amateur in love
My bank account is doing just fine,
But my emotions are bankrupt
My body is nice and strong, but my heart is in a million pieces
When the sun is shining, so am I
But when night falls, so do my tears

Sometimes the fear is so loud in my heart
That I can barely tell our voices apart
Sometimes the fear is so loud in my head,
That I can barely hear what God says

But then I hear a whisper that, 'This, too, shall pass'
I hear the angels whisper that, 'This, too, shall pass'
My ancestors whisper that this day will one day be the past
So I walk in faith that this, too, shall pass

The one that loved me the most
Turned around and hurt me the worst
I'm doing my best to move on
But the pain just keeps singing me a song
My head and my heart are at war
'Cause love ain't happening the way I wanted
Feel like I'm about to break down
Can't view the light at the end of the tunnel

It's when I pray for healing in my heart
To be put back together, what is torn apart
And I pray for quiet in my head
That I can hear clearly what God says

Then I hear a whisper that, 'This, too, shall pass'
I hear the angels whisper that, 'This, too, shall pass'
My ancestors whisper that this day will one day be the past
So I walk in faith that this, too, shall pass

All of a sudden I realize that it only hurts worse to fight it
So I embrace my shadow, and hold onto the morning light

This, too, shall pass... This, too, shall pass...

I hear the angels whisper that trouble don't have to last always
I hear the angels whisper:
Even the day after tomorrow will one day be yesterday
I hear my angels whisper
I hear my angels whisper: This, too, shall pass.

She likes me...

I found a note in my facebook page from a Mrs. Trauma Flintstones...

YOU have the best drag name I have ever, ever seen. Because I've been performing a loooooooooong time, I often get interviewed. And, inevitably, I'm asked about my own drag name (Trauma Flintstone). Then, the interviewer will ask about other drag names. I have cited your name as the BEST of all drag names out there. I'm also quite fond of Lois Commondenominator, Sharon Needles and Delia Cards. But you, mister, WIN.

Kudos to you.

Yea I flipped out when I read that...I admire her A LOT and to see that she has listed my name under her favorites kinda makes me happy...

interesting...

after 2 years of craziness, ipod getting stolen, hijacked on the Fline, beaten in the head with a gun by a tranny...and now work, housing issues...and now I find out my grandfather MIGHT have breast cancer, and my mom is getting her 4th divorce and moving to Florida my freind did my astrology chart...and this is what is says...

Oh wow, you poor thing, no wonder you are copping it from all sides.

I was correct in my assumption about the Pluto transit. You've had Pluto messing around with your Neptune for nearly a full two years now. Neptune is a planet that makes us want to "merge" with the universe, if you know what I mean. You've got a very strong Neptunian influence in your birth chart, so this transit is particularly painful for you. Your normal support network is being stripped away, you've probably experienced ( and probably are still experiencing) some severe depression. People with strong Neptunian influences generally have some sort of addiction issue. Neptunian people really feel the pain of the world and escape that in various ways. Be it drugs, alcohol, sex or food, you've probably been trying to take comfort in your addiction, but it's not been terribly effective. As I said in my previous email, it feels like the end of the world as you know it.

The good news, is that this transit will be over by the end of December, so things may not ncessarily be looking up by then, but you should be feeling better about them.

The other transit you've had going at the moment is the Black Moon on your Venus. The Black Moon as a particular point in space that relates to the moon, and deals with deep feminine secrets and issues. You've no doubt been having some deep internal stuff going on over the last few months. This would also relate to your concerns for your mother's well being. I'm sure you love her very much, but judging from your natal chart, she has been causing you pain from probably the moment you were born. Unintentionally of course.

Coming up, Pluto is going to hit your Jupiter - Jupiter is all about fun and good fortune. Emotionally things should be a bit easier than they have been. Your social circle may diminish, and things that currently bring you joy may stop doing so. Hopefully this will be aleviated by the triple teaming of Neptune, Chiron and Jupiter which will be hitting your Sun at about the same time. There will be new things and people coming into your life to help you through this period.

I've been trying to figure out how to say this delicately, but can't seem to find a way. So here it is. Whatever your addiction/pleasure, please be careful with it. The powerful team of Neptune Chiron and Jupiter can indicate suffering from having fun. It had a huge influence on Michael Jackson's chart at the time of his death.

You're going through an incredibly powerful process of transformation. You will be a new, better and stronger you once you come out the other side. It's hard to remember that in the moment. You have people around you who love and care for you, and they will help you through. It will get better.

*sigh* how funny is that...and she didnt even know half of the shit that went down yet she pretty much named it all started two years ago...

I'm gonna come out of this GREAT or dead...

either way it should be an great adventure!

This rock

There's a low rock wall
By the cliffs of Mohàr
Runs from down on the ground
Right up through the sea air
As a child I would climb
To the top of those stairs
And wish on the fog
I was anywhere else...

The farms and the valleys
Are ringed with the stones
Of the men who built walls
So's to be more alone
All that's left of them now
Are their fears and their bones
But the rocks they pulled up
Were all I've ever known

The Rock fought my spirit
The Rock fed my anger
The Rock broke my heart
Like the waves of the sea
I tried hard to fight
But it still grew inside me

This island
My Ireland
The Rock is in me

Hard was the ground
In which this child grew
Unforgiving and cold
Was the home that I knew
But knowing the soil
Holds no harbor for you
Makes pulling up roots
That much easier to do

Set sail!
Young pilgrims
Set sail to a new land
Set sail!
Our future
Is out there to find

Now it's been years
Since I've been in that place
And the winds of my life
Have all weathered my face
But it's only with distance
And the coming of grace
That I see in you beauty
I could never replace

The Rock forged my spirit
The Rock was my anchor
The Rock held me fast
Through the storms of my youth
Now you'll never die
Cause you live on inside me

An oileán seo (This island)
Mo h-Éireann féin (My Ireland)
Li-li-li...

Excitment Has Bled Into Freaking Out

Okay so I quit qork and am ready to go back to school...

I was Ubber xcited about this change in events becasue I was ready for a change...But now all that excitment has bled into "OMG WHAT AM I DOING?!?!?!"

Change is something that has to happen but its also something that is a bit scary even when you want it too happen.

I'm getting alot of positive comments about going going. And I know its something that when I get started I'm going to love...but its that waiting to start that gets me.

I had the same feeling when I decided to sign up for Aids Lifecycle that first year...then I ran across a post on the ALC message board and it kinda calmed me down a bit:

You are not alone in your angst. Fear? It is just the element of emotion most commonly encountered. Working your way through it is part of the whole journey. Just start now, and know you will never be alone...

I think I can apply that to this...

Change happens if we want it to or not...we just have to go head on into it and see what happens on the other side...

To Stuart...

i search your profile
for a translation
i study the conversation
like a map
'cause i know there is strength
in the differences between us
and i know there is comfort
where we overlap

come here
stand in front of the light
stand still
so i can see your silhouette
i hope
you have got all night
'cause i'm not done looking,
no, i'm not done looking yet

each one of us
wants a piece of the action
you can hear it in what we say
you can see it in what we do
we negotiate with chaos
for some sense of satisfaction
if you won't give it to me
at least give me a better view

come here
stand in front of the light
stand still
so i can see your silhouette
i hope
you have got all night
'cause i'm not done looking
no,
i'm not done looking yet

i build each one of my songs
out of glass
so you can see me inside of them
i suppose
or you could just leave the image of me
in the background, i guess
and watch your own reflection superimposed

i build each one of my days out of hope
and i give that hope your name
and i don't know you that well
but it don't take much to tell
either you don't have the balls
or you don't feel the same

come here
stand in front of the light
stand still
so i can see your silhouette
i hope
you have got all night
'cause i'm not done looking
no, i'm not done looking yet

i search your profile for a translation
i study the conversation like a map
'cause i know there is strength
in the differences between us
and i know there is comfort
where we overlap

Lubbock or Leave it...

So I'm siting here in Lubbock with one of the most beautiful, sweet, charming men I have ever met. I've known him for 4 years and he truly has me wrapped...

He's in Lubbock and I'm in San Francisco.

I leave in around 8 days. And I don't want to get on the plane. I talked to Stuart about it and he doesn't want me to go either...

Mad as hell!

incase the rest of you havnt heard our beloved Gov. of California is trying to cut HIV/AIDS funding by AT LEAST One Billion dollars ($1,000,000,000) and we as a people need to fight this...

How can you justify gutting funding from HIV testing, research, housing help, med help....without these money PEOPLE WILL DIE!

This little queer is not standing for it anymore...I am throwin gmyself into fundraising for AIDS LIFECYCLE. The money I raise for the next coming year will save lives....

On that note here is a little video from this years ride... I hope you enjoy!
