one down...one to go!

So Im an offical Sock Knitter!

Need proof?

Fist looking at the yarn that my SP sent me I I didnt care for the colors that much, but after knitting it up and seeing where they all fell I LOVE THEM!

I tweeked the pattern a little I shortened the calf...I'm more of a ankle sock guy really...

But I think it looks pretty nice for my first pair dont you?

DH tried to steal this sock actaully he tried it on and was like...this is nice...put is Birkenstock back on and tried to walk out..

I damn near had to tackle him to get it back!

I'll be starting the second one today...I think im going to get a new pair of needles I have a 5 set of number 1 babmboo and 'm scared that I'm going to snap them...they are already warping so if anyone have a pair of number 1's that they dont need you are more than welcome to send them my way!

In other news, I checked my mail yeterday and I and I found a LOVELY skein of Opal Sock yarn...

Isnt that sexy!

Then today I found these tucked away in the far corner of my mailbox...

I wonder what I'm going to find tomorrow...

hi there!
i grabbed a link to your blog from craftster. you seem très cool. you're an awesome knitter, and you live in indiana! not that i'm particularly fond of the place... my mom used to work in north vernon; we live up near indy though.

and i can see why you wouldn't have liked the yarn at first. i wouldn't have either. but in that sock -- fabulous! i love the fact that you altered it to a low ankle length. i haven't dove into sock knitting myself, yet, but when i do (and i'm sure the time will come) i'll be doing the same. it's a shame there aren't more shorter sock patterns out there.

Congratulations! Watch out for the dreaded second sock syndrome. I dig your blog and I'm so sorry about the whole yarn store ordeal...that is such an awful violation. Be good and have fun.

the sock's great :) glad your horrible experience at the yarn store didn't put you off socks. Those needles are a hell of a lot sturdier than they look. I've snapped one once but that was by crushing it in my bag with my laptop. Don't make that mistake and you should be fine.

The Opal is 2 die 4! I love it. I'd have a jealous fit but I just got some of my own, so you're safe.

I'm glad to see the bitch at the LYS didn't put you off your socks, sweetie!

I use metal needles so I don't have to worry about them warping. And I use the magic loop rather than DPNs.

I have some size 1 DPNs at home you can have that are metal. Will I see you next week in Chitown?

One last thing, you may wish to consider making your toe decrease much faster. Unless you have finger toes (I have barney rubble feet), when I'm 1/2 way through the decreases, I decrease every round rather than every other round. That way the toe hugs your toes. Just something to consider.

That Opal yarn sure is sexy! What is the color? I may have to pick some up for myself.

Your sock looks great. I'm off to see if you have clearer pics of your tattoos on your blog (plus your hair, which I'd love to see!)
