Mitzy’s Flip Flop Frock from Priscilla Queen of the DesertFabulous
For: Crafty guys and gals who want a costume that stands out“There is nothing like a new frock to brighten your day.” Mitzy’s flip-flop dress is one of Priscilla Queen of the Desert’s most iconic outfits, from both the film and Broadway musical.
Entering any costume contests? With this look, you’re sure to be a shoe-in (sorry, we couldn’t resist)!
To get Mitzy’s fashion-forward look, you’ll need:
-A black dress (strapless or with spaghetti straps, with a hem above the knees)
-Brightly-colored flip-flops (if you don’t want to use real flip-flops, pedicure slippers work great for this costume; you can also make your own out of craft foam sheets)
-Something to connect the flip-flops (needle and strong thread, loose leaf rings, etc.)-Material (cord, ribbon, chain, etc.) to make your dress straps
-Bubblegum pink wig
How To: This costume will require some skill! You’re going to make a flip-flop dress to wear over your black dress (see Mitzy’s photo for reference).
First, make the vertical flip-flop panels (each panel will use 3 flip-flops). Next, you’re going to connect the panels to form the dress. Finally, attach your shoulder straps.Make sure that you make the dress loose enough that you can easily put it on over your head. If you like, leave two of the flip-flops at the top unconnected, and then connect them after the dress is on.
Make sure that the flip-flop dress fits over your black dress comfortably.Don’t be shy with your makeup! You might want to practice applying this look a few times before the big night.
Bonus: If you really want to get into character, try talking in an Australian accent all evening!
So most people know that I have a fascination with all things paranormal. I've had it since I was young. And I think it stems from my fear of death. So I'm always trying to find out what happens after... That's why I watch shows like Ghost Adventures, celebrity ghost stories, my ghost story caught on tape, and esp Long Island Medium
That being said I feel that things happen for a reason, like being invited to visit a friend in norcal and meeting someone that would become a really good friend of mine. And on top of that I would unknowingly be the gay version of her mother who passed. It's my belief that she placed me there for her Daughter...
So when I get upset that I live in a city I know no one in I know it's because there is a reason that is bigger than me. I might be scared but when that fear kicks in I just remind myself that there is a reason I'm here and I should wait and see what it could be....
So I'm loving my kindle. I'm reading thru a ton of books and I actually have a lot already downloaded... I'm hoping to get thru 12 classics in 12 months...
Right now I just started The Secret Garden... I read this in like 6 grade and forgot how much I liked It....
Any suggestions I should look up?
This is the start of my new design... it's going to have a mesh central panel and lace edging... I'm thinking about calling it "red headed slut" due to the fact it's easy but does have a little bite to it when you reach the edging...
So I'm knitting a hunter green infinity scarf. I forget that the name isn't from the loop the scarf makes but the long ass time it takes to knit one!
Tho I will say it's nice to have a project on my needles. I have been in a rut in my knitting and it's been sucking ass! I have 2000 yards of a Garnett lace weigh and can't figure out anything to do with it. I've hated everything I've started with it.
Sigh
So here's hoping this scarf gets me out if my rut. I figure why I'm knitting this I canthink what to make out of this awesome yarn... hopefully it can be a mother's day gift...
Wish me luck and best knitting cause I'll need it lol
A certain Facebook friend seen i was making chicken and dumplings for dinner tonigt and was sad she wasn't here to have any... so i told her i would pay the recipe up for her... so here it is...
What you will need:
1 crock pot
1lb. Frozen mixed veggies (caned works too)
2 large chicken breasts (thawed or frozen)
One can of your fav biscuits
3 cloves Garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cups of milk
2 cups of water
1 can of cream of chicken soup or mushroom i used one of each...
Now spray the inside of your pot with non stick spray... and pour in the veggies. Then if you are using thawed chicken dice it into chucks and dump that in there. If nit just place the frozen chicken right on top. Add the cans of soup..Now pour in the milk and a bit if water.
Now set it on high and forget it for 4 hours if the chicken is thawed 7 if frozen
When you stir it you will be able to see if the chicken is done or not.
Now pop open the biscuits (i love doing that) and i quarter them and drop them in. Its up to u how many u want. I use the whole can... but quarter them and just drop them in...
Let it set for around one more hour...
Stir it up and laddle it out...
I like to serve mine in over sized coffee cups
How you like it!
P.s this makes alot so invite friends over...
